Journal Writing

1. What Is Journaling?
Journaling involves documenting both your experiences and your interpretation of those experiences. It’s like having a conversation with yourself on paper. Through reflection, you gain insights into your feelings, behavior, and the reasons behind them.

2.Why Reflect?

  • Understanding Yourself: Reflective journaling helps you understand who you truly are. By examining your experiences, you can uncover patterns and learn from your past.
  • Objective Perspective: It gets thoughts out of your head and onto paper, allowing you to look at them objectively.
  • Sharing Wisdom: A reflective journal enables you to share your life learning with others, contributing to collective wisdom.

3. How to Practice Journaling:

  • Capture Experiences: Journal what happened as objectively as possible. Include details so you can recall the experience later.
  • Explore Emotions: Note any feelings or emotions the experience elicited in you.
  • Learn from Similar Experiences: Reflect on profound or impactful events. These might not always be noticeable at the time but can reveal turning points in your life.
  • Self-Reflection: Continuously reflect on who you are and how you fit into the world. This understanding empowers effective decision-making and a fulfilling life.

4.Benefits of Journaling:

  • Self-Awareness: Gain a deeper understanding of your life experiences.
  • Alignment: Live your future aligned with your true self.
  • Clarity: Get thoughts out of your head for objective examination.
  • Growth: Learn from the past to grow as an individual.

Cardboard Engineering Project

Twenty-five interactive cardboard model projects that engage kids' creativity and "out of the box" thinking skills through hands-on learning and the application of science-based principles.

Kids can bring old cardboard to life and build recycled creations they can play with, sit in, and wear.

Supporting STEAM education initiatives and the Maker Movement, Out of the Box includes 25 interactive cardboard model projects to inspire kids' creativity through engaged and hands-on learning, and, as the founder of Maker Faire Dale Dougherty says, "to realize with their hands what they can imagine in their minds.

The projects utilize only recycled materials, including cardboard rolls and boxes, so all the supplies should be easy to find right at home.

My son joined a 2 days camp here. It is located at Henderson CC, next to puzzletopia and the neighbourhood police post. It was a small group and the range of activities included building DIY vehicles and engaging in different forms of puzzles. The teachers were responsive and also sent me occasional updates during the camp. I'm glad he had fun with various screen free activities which engaged his mind and hands.
